From Egypt to Israel

The students took their second (and last) Egypt test this week, thereby concluding the unit on Egypt. Based on the overall improvement on test scores thus far, they appear to be developing their habits of study. On Friday we began a brief overview of the history of Ancient Israel, and this overview will likely conclude on Monday. We will then use the rest of the allotted unit time to focus on various aspects central to Israelite history: the promises given to the patriarchs, the Exodus, the giving of the law and the Wilderness experience, the wars in Canaan, the united monarchy, the divided kingdoms, and the periods of exile and diaspora.
